Kim Black Vieira -- My son was born with hypothyroidism, but the hospital filed his name backwards – Vieira Garrett, instead of Garrett Vieira. This caused a delay in receiving test results that our state had just put in place a couple years before to test each newborn. Left untreated, the doctors said they did not know what sort of damage may have occurred – but that it more than likely was irreversible. I knew something was not right, my baby slept 24 hours a day except while nursing. When he was three months old, we were sitting in a church service. The pastor asked if anyone had a prayer request to stand, name your request and believe God for the answer. We did so, and my three-month old called out the words “Good, good, good! Good, good, good!” Everyone sitting around us started laughing and I found myself laughing and crying as I knew we had experienced a miracle! He began reading at 2 1/2 years old and became a member of Mensa by the second grade! He has always excelled in all subject matters and has been in a few college credit classes although he is now only in his sophomore year of high school. I know he is a miracle.
