Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe
Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe has made it her mission to give back hope and life to the young girls in Gulu, Uganda. Whether these young girls are orphans or victims of violence, rape or sexual exploitation - Sister Rosemary has set out to give a helping hand.
At the Saint Monica Girls’ Tailoring Center she runs, Sister Rosemary acts as administrator, teacher, coordinator , fundraiser, friend, mother - just to name a few of her roles. Her goal is to re-establish these women and help them make a life for themselves, no matter how horrific the obstacles they've faced.
As Forest Whitaker says, in his Time tribute to Sister Rosemary, "The traumas she heals are unfathomable, but the reach of her love is boundless.." She is the voice for women who can not speak.
