Resistance is Futile Resistance gets us nowhere, but we all experience it. Once we understand and learn to sort out resistance as one of the many voices in our mind, we can more easily let it go. The mind is full of chatter that runs on and on with the inventory, judgments, and complaints that have become second nature to us over a lifetime. If we listen to the mind for our guidance, we will stay exactly where we are—it matters not to the mind whether we are happy or unhappy. The mind continually repeats what it already knows, and within the mind, we have a lot of unlearning to do. Because the job search is one of the most emotionally charged and challenging processes that we face, resistance is to be expected. Acknowledge it, release it, and over time it will become nothing more than background chatter.
