10. There is a way out of grief. The monks spoke of “working” and “praying” as the keys to a devout life. They might have been referring to grief as well. Dive deep into the ordinary tasks of life, be of service to others, and don’t be afraid to tell God how you feel. God is not offended by depression. Psalm 139 reminds us that God works in darkness as well as light.
