You have heard of the familiar Saints over the years, even if you are not religious. Saint Paul, Saint John, Saint Patrick, Saint Thomas and now Mother Theresa are very popular and most of us heard about their lives. There are books and even films that share their faith and their journeys. However, did you know that there are many Saints that you are not aware of from the church, or that have not been popularized in history books? Many of the names are pretty obscure. Leaders like Margaret of Antioch, Joseph of Cupertino, Simeon Stylites and Denis of Paris all have unusual stories connected to them. They might not be household names, but one thing is sure—they had great stories, and some even faced death by being beheaded. With this in mind, we will take a look at 5 Saints who remain pretty unknown and who were canonized by the church.
