Whether you realize it or not, you’re engaged in spiritual warfare this week. Paul reminds us in the book of Ephesians that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Yet too many Christians live and act as if spiritual warfare is nothing more than science fiction. If we can’t see it, it can’t exist, right? But even we don’t believe that.
You can’t see wind, but you can see and feel the deadly effects of a hurricane or a tornado ravaging your community. You can’t see cancer, but that doesn’t make it any less potent or deadly. Ignoring the spiritual warfare around you doesn’t make it go away, it just insures that you and your loved ones are left unguarded and undefended against the attacks of the enemy.
Can you see the effects of spiritual warfare in your personal world? Look at the mental and emotional struggles, the addictions, the divorce, the neglected children, the broken lives all around you. As a believer, you are called not only to engage in spiritual warfare but to operate from a position of victory. Jesus already won when he defeated death and the grave. When you engage in spiritual warfare, you’re applying that victory to your life and family. Here are six practical ways to win your spiritual warfare this week.
