The Bible tells us that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). During His time on Earth, Jesus had an impressive view of life, inspiring values and a clear view of what He believed was truly important for us. These astonishing revelations and values are told through Scripture. You may not have read some of these verses before. One of the reasons might be because so many people have stopped sharing them. Sometimes we only focus on reading short Bible passages without delving deeply into their message. Most people prefer to share biblical verses about victory that cheer us and motivate us, but they forget to share verses that have a deeper meaning. Revelation 1

“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” - Matthew 6:33

Prioritize the Kingdom and God will take care of everything else in your life. The center of this Bible verse is about eliminating anxiety, which is a more lethal problem to the heart of a believer than lacking material and physical needs. We can have peace in abundance. However, some people are overwhelmed by anxiety even if they are surrounded by all kinds of wealth. Are you lacking anything today? Don’t be anxious. God will provide. Keep believing, keep working, keep reading the Bible and keep calling on God. Prepare yourself in your field of work and keep building healthy relationships with people. This is God’s will for us.

Revelation 2

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” - Luke 11:09

This quote from Jesus is often misinterpreted because of people’s urgent need for material things. God is a wise Father. Wise parents should not give their children every little thing they ask for. The power of this verse is that it not only speaks about asking and being given, but it also speaks of seeking and finding. If you need something, seek God and He will help you find it. Many people only hear the part about asking, but God also wants some action on your part. Seek and knock on the door, because the door will open only if you knock on it.

“Salt is good: but if the salt loses its flavor, wherewith shall it be seasoned?” - Luke 14:34

Jesus compares us, the believers, to the salt of the earth. At mealtime, in order to better enjoy our food, we need a little salt. It tastes better and we enjoy it more. Without salt, food would lose its delight and its flavor. This world needs believers in Jesus. Believers have been the catalysts for great changes in humanity including the struggle for social equality, transparency in government, women’s rights and many other human movements. We believers add our grain of salt whenever we see an injustice in the world and we try to stop all contempt and discrimination whenever we see bad things happening around us.

Revelation 4

“And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.” - Luke 6:29

This verse from Luke is one of the least obeyed Bible verses. Often when someone slaps us on our right cheek, we pull our martial arts repertoire to defend ourselves. Forget about “one’s cheek”. Religious bullying has reached new heights thanks to the internet. It’s become a social status symbol to be conceited and to humiliate others. We don’t get slapped anymore because we are too busy slapping others. Giving away our coat? Walking an extra-mile? These are difficult concepts for many people to grasp because they have no concept of it. Believers should walk away from aggressive situations or take the humiliation, if necessary, to keep the peace and honor our Father.

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” - Matthew 5:44

The Bible tells us to love because He first loved us. Love and forgiveness go hand in hand. In these times when war between religions is in the news every day, it is saddening to see so many Christian brothers and sisters not only fighting members of other religions, but also each other. Instead of fighting, we should be doing exactly the opposite. We should be praying for them, feeding them, helping them and showing them a love that is real. We’ll never show God’s love to anybody by reciting verses from the Bible and then fighting and offending.

Revelation 6

“What man of you, having one hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.” - Luke 15:4-6

God’s heart holds the eternal wish that none of us should perish or be lost. All His sheep are important to Him. The problem today is that many believers seek preferential treatment because of their “seniority” in the Kingdom of God. These Christians scorn new believers and don’t go out looking for other lost sheep. To set Jesus’ example in motion we have to go out of our way to find lost sheep. To understand this point, ask yourself this question. If you were sent on an evangelistic mission, which country or community would you put at the bottom of your list? Which place on earth would you rather not go to and would prefer that we send somebody else? Which country, community, religion or race is a part of this group? Whichever place or people it is, God asks you to go to that place to save His lost sheep.

Revelation 7

“Take up your cross and be successful and he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.” - Matthew 10:38

Bearing a cross is not pretty or simple. There is no book called “Take up Your Cross and Be Successful.” Nobody wants to walk that road and some will not be happy when they finally understand the meaning of “taking up a cross”. Many people prefer to remain on the sidelines. Others will offer to help you for a while, but will not stick around until the end because sooner or later they have their own cross to bear. These same people who choose to leave their cross at the side of the road to walk a path on the road of destruction.

Taking up your cross is not an easy road, but it’s worth it. Taking up your cross doesn’t mean you should wallow in unnecessary suffering. Carrying your cross is simply following through, finishing your divine mission in this life on earth. You take up your cross when you push forward despite all obstacles.

Revelation 8

“He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.” - John 12:25

This verse lets us know that success is not found in fame, acceptance and limelight. Do you want to have an abundant life on this earth? Serve others. Don’t try to dominate and manipulate others to serve you. People, especially young believers, are opening their eyes and seeing that God’s work is being overshadowed by ministers seeking stardom instead of true sacrifice. Remember, you are not first. First comes God, then your family and your neighbor. You’ll have to let your dreams die and spend your life helping others so their plans are reborn, grow and become blessings in this world of pain. May God guide you along the path you must take.

Revelation 10

“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” - Matthew 10:29-31

Stop worrying. God will take care of you. Don’t stop studying or working. God knows what you truly need; He is happy and content to provide them for you and everyone who applies these verses to their live. The only prayer God hears from these people, is a prayer of true repentance. Don’t be afraid. If you don’t consciously scorn God’s Word and you place God before everyone else, you’re on the right track towards the cross. Remember, you are worth more than sparrows and God will always take care of your needs.

Revelation 11

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.” - Matthew 13:44

Seeking the Kingdom of God must be our highest goal in life. There will be times in life when we will have to sacrifice our own goals because of our love and commitment to God and His promise of eternal life. It seems foolish to many people, but some day you will see the results with your own eyes. Let no worldly thing shake your foundation. You must stand firm and strong. Do not give up and do not lose faith. Let not your light faint. Fan into flame the gift, the Kingdom of God within you: a hidden treasure you must uphold, preserve and protect with your own life.

Revelation 12

“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:45

It is our duty to serve others. Today’s great leaders are the ones who have the most popular TV shows, the largest mega churches and brag about having the largest numbers of followers on social media. His list of requirements for those requiring His services today is simple: “Do as I did, love and serve others as I loved and served you.”

We live in difficult times where some “servants of God” are capable of almost anything, including lying and slandering other servants just to guarantee their own success. Some of them are even capable of harming other servants. It’s true. Watch the news. It happens every day. These are the times foretold by Jesus in which deceivers, people who love themselves more than the truth, are being admired, praised and exalted as true leaders. But the truth is, we should be truly serving others.
