Access Research Network

Nerve center of the “intelligent design” movement, seeking a scientifically credible alternative to Darwinism. Publishes Origins and Design Journal, the happening place for thoughtful beyond-Darwin theories.

American Association for the Advancement of Science

Main site offering something on everything scientific, including a “dialogue on science and religion” area.

Artigen

A good digest of science news, with more emphasis on technical journals.

H.M.S. Beagle

A scientists’ journal with a sense of humor. Pleasurable reading from the pro-Darwin perspective.

Science and Creationism

Index of statements by the National Academy of Sciences regarding science and creationism issues. Not a lot of comfort for creationists here.

Evolution educational resource

Fantastically useful for student or teachers, this site, maintained by a professor of biology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, has info and links on everything Darwin. It's all here, though you still have to write the term paper.

The World of Richard Dawkins

Named for the British zoologist Richard Dawkins, aka “Mister Meaninglessness,” this site is the polar opposite of the ARN site. It offers numerous arguments and features that laud Darwin and blast the clerics.

Science area of the Templeton Foundation

Dedicated to “progress in religion,” which usually means hooking up scientists and theologians for cordial dialogue. Mainstream and always accurate.

Science Daily

Valuable daily summary of scientific news.

The Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences.

A science and religion reconciliation project run in conjunction with the Graduate Theological Seminary of Berkeley, California. Pro-religious but scientifically sophisticated. Big on cosmology; steers clear of creationism.

The Committee for Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal.

Publishes the fun journal Skeptical Inquirer, and assigns scientific “truth squads” to suspicious claims of ESP or alien landings. Will sell you a Darwin fish for $7.

God and Computers Project at MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

Tends to post slow-moving academic lectures, but it’s a fascinating topic area which is run by smart postgraduates.

National Bioethics Advisory Commission

Letters, transcripts, and other information from the group formed to give bioethical recommendations on governmental programs relating to research on human biology and behavior. Primary work is protection of human subjects and the management and use of human genetics information.

Institute on Religion in an Age of Science

Independent society devoted to forming connections between scientific concepts and the "goals and hopes of humanity expressed through religion."
