I’ve worked so hard to reach a size I’m really proud of. Right now I look great and feel great, but I’ve been here before and then found myself reaching for my "fat pants." How do I keep the weight off? The answer you’ve wanted for so long is simple. It’s about joyously creating new habits and practicing them so they become second nature; something healthy you enjoy all day, every day. If you lose weight by training yourself in moderate, sensible, balanced eating, and you use your body (play, be active, pleasurable movement) for at least 30 minutes a day, connect with others, and practice daily meditation and prayer – the weight will stay off one-day-at-a-time, forever. And if you find yourself slipping a little – longing for some extra desserts, deciding to roll over for another hour of sleep instead of the exercise you know you need, ask God (or whatever you call your Higher Power) to help. The goal is to develop a healthy practice on all levels of your being – eating well in moderation, being physically active, having relationships and important work, and most importantly, doing God’s will. Once you get the new, positive changes in motion, then you can slightly adjust and "fine tune" your well-being. Then life is joyously natural, your new habits become automatic, and you always are at your best.
