A.J. Brown is a NFL wide receiver who currently plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels and was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft.

Growing up in Starkville, Brown attended Starkville High School, where he showcased exceptional talent in both football and baseball. As a senior, he recorded 83 receptions for 1,371 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading his team to a 6A state championship. His outstanding performance earned him first-team All-State honors from USA Today. In addition to his football accolades, Brown was a standout baseball player, becoming only the second athlete after Kyler Murray to play in both the Under Armour All-America Football Game and the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game. His prowess on the diamond led to his selection by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB Draft.

Choosing to focus on football, Brown committed to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where he played for the Rebels from 2016 to 2018. During his tenure, he became the all-time leading receiver in Ole Miss history, amassing 2,984 yards and 19 touchdowns over three seasons. In 2017, he was awarded the Conerly Trophy, recognizing him as the best college football player in Mississippi. His consistent performance earned him first-team All-SEC honors in both 2017 and 2018.

In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Brown in the second round with the 51st overall pick. He made an immediate impact in his rookie season, recording 52 receptions for 1,051 yards and eight touchdowns, leading all rookies in receiving yards. His stellar performance earned him a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Over the next two seasons with the Titans, Brown continued to excel, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2020 and 2021.

In April 2022, Brown was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he quickly became a key offensive weapon. In his first season with the Eagles, he set franchise records for receptions and receiving yards, solidifying his reputation as one of the league's elite wide receivers. His contributions were instrumental in the Eagles' successful campaigns, leading to consecutive Pro Bowl selections in 2022 and 2023.

A.J. Brown's Religious Beliefs

Beyond his athletic achievements, Brown's Christian faith is a cornerstone of his life. He has been vocal about his beliefs, often expressing gratitude to God for his talents and opportunities. In a 2020 interview, Brown stated, "I'm a Christian first, before anything. When I step out on the field, I want to say thank you for the blessing, for everything, because I don't have to do this. I get to do this. So, I always wear a cross."

Brown often paints a cross on his face before games, a practice he began in college, symbolizing his gratitude and faith. He frequently references Romans 8:18, which states, "The pain you have been feeling cannot compare to the joy that is coming," drawing strength and motivation from this verse.

In interviews, Brown has emphasized the importance of trusting in God's plan, stating, "I try not to lean on my own understanding. I read the Bible a lot because that's how I fight my problems. I'm not trying to stand up here and be a perfect guy because I'm not; nobody is. But I just lean heavily on my faith and try to let Him direct my paths."
