Stephanie Nicol Chigvintsev, known professionally as Nikki Garcia, is a retired professional wrestler and TV personality. She’s best known for her tenure in WWE from 2007 to 2022, in which she performed under the ring name Nikki Bella alongside her twin sister, Brie, as The Bella Twins. She’s currently the host of the game show, “Barmageddon.” Garcia signed with WWE in 2007 and was assigned to the developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling alongside her twin sister, forming the duo The Bella Twins. She made her debut for the SmackDown brand in 2008. She’s a two-time WWE Divas Champion, with her second reign of 301 days being the longest reign for the now-defunct title.

In 2021, she and Brie were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as The Bella Twins. Also, during her time in WWE, she starred in the reality TV series “Total Divas,” and she and Brie got their spin-off “Total Bellas.” In her last few years in WWE, she made occasional appearances but acted as an ambassador for the company. When her contract with WWE expired in 2023, she and Brie announced that they would retire the “Bella” surname and return to their legal name of “Garcia” professionally and reintroduced themselves as The Garcia Twins. She ranked no. 1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Female 50 in November 2015 and was named Diva of the Year by Rolling Stone in December 2015. She also won the award for Choice Female Athlete alongside her sister at the Teen Choice Awards in 2016.

Born 16 minutes before her twin sister Brianna to Kathy Colace and Jon Garcia, Garcia was born in San Diego, California and raised on a farm in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a keen soccer enthusiast, she, along with her twin sister, played for the Scottdale club in elementary school. In 2002, she graduated from Chaparral High School and returned to San Diego for college, where she played soccer for Grossmont College, but relocated to Los Angeles a year later, where she worked as a waitress at the Mondrian Hotel while trying to find an agent. Then, Garcia started acting, modeling, and doing promotional work, making her first national TV appearance on “Meet My Folks.” After this appearance, the Garcia twins were hired to be the World Cup Twins for Budweiser and were photographed holding a World Cup trophy.

Garcia and her twin sister were contestants in the 2006 “International Body Doubles Twin Search.” The twins later participated in the 2006 WWE Diva Search but didn’t make the cut. Garcia started dating John Cena in 2012, and the couple became engaged in 2017 when Cena proposed after their mixed tag-team match at WrestleMania 22. In 2018, the couple called off the engagement and canceled their wedding. In 2019, she started dating Artem Chigvintsev. The couple had their first child in 2020 and married in 2022.

What religion is Nikki Bella?

Nikki was raised in a Catholic household but deviated from some practices of the faith as she grew up. In one interview, she said, “My sister and I were part of a church youth group.” However, she seemed to turn back to her faith after her mother endured extensive brain surgery. She said on Instagram, “For those of you that believe, I’m going to end in a prayer. Thank you, God, for giving me an open heart, an open mind and open eyes to feel, educate and see the pain of the past and the hurt that it has continued to cause so many. Thank you for giving me the courage and bravery to be vulnerable and uncomfortable, to use my voice even when it’s scary, to ask questions even when it’s uncomfortable, even if it makes me feel ashamed that I didn’t know the answers and to be present and truly feel other’s pain and cries.”
