Faith Hill, the 5-time Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter, was raised with her two brothers by their adoptive parents. She first sang as a child in her family’s Baptist church, and learned to play the guitar by adolescence. At 16 she started her own country band. Soon, Faith moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music full time.
She met executive Daniel Hill while working in a music-industry office job, and they married, though it didn’t last and they divorced. She signed with Warner Bros. and in 1993 released her debut album Take Me As I Am which went triple platinum and gave her a No. 1 hit, Wild One. In 1995, she released her second album, It Matters to Me, with the title track also hitting No. 1. In 1996, she toured with Tim McGraw, and the rest is, as they say, history.
Four of her subsequent albums: Faith, Breathe, Cry and Fireflies also went platinum, with several songs like This Kiss and Breathe not only hitting No. 1 on the country charts, but crossing over to the pop charts.
Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have co-headlined in four Soul2 Soul tours and have 3 daughters.
