Eugene “Gene” Hackman is an actor and novelist. In a career that lasted over 60 years, Hackman won numerous awards, including four Golden Globes and two Academy Awards. Hackman has starred in films like “The French Connection,” “Unforgiven,” “Bonnie & Clyde,” and “Mississippi Burning.”

Hackman’s other film credits include “The Poseidon Adventure,” “Hoosiers,” “Enemy of the State,” “The Royal Tenenbaums,” and “Welcome to Mooseport,” his last film before retirement. Hackman started pursuing his acting career in 1956, joining the Pasadena Playhouse, where he met Dustin Hoffman. Their classmates always considered Hackman and Hoffman outsiders, voting them “The Least Likely to Succeed.” Determined to prove them wrong, Hackman headed to New York City.
