The Jonas Brothers are a pop rock band. Formed in 2005, they gained popularity from their appearances on the Disney Channel. The band consists of three brothers: Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas. Raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the Jonas Brothers moved to Little Falls, New Jersey, in 2005, where they wrote their first record that made its Hollywood Records release. They starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Camp Rock" and its 2010 sequel, "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam." They also starred in their own Disney Channel series, "Jonas," which was rebranded as "Jonas L.A." for its second season.

The band has released six albums: "It's About Time," "Jonas Brothers," "A Little Bit Longer," "Lines, Vines, and Trying Times," "Happiness Begins," and "The Album." In 2008, the group was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys and won Breakthrough Artist at the American Music Awards. Before the release of "Lines, Vines, and Trying Times," they'd sold over eight million albums worldwide. After a hiatus between 2010 and 2011 to pursue solo projects, the group reunited in 2012 to record a new album, which was canceled after their break-up in 2013. As of that year, they'd sold over 17 albums worldwide.

Six years after their split, the group reunited with the release of "Sucker" in 2019. The song became the 34th song in history to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the Jonas Brothers' first number-one single on the chart. Their fifth studio album, "Happiness Begins," was released in 2019, topping the US Billboard 200. The brothers released their sixth studio album, "The Album," in 2023, preceded by two singles, "Waffle House" and "Wings." Jon Bellion produced the 12-track record. In 2005, Joe, Nick, and Kevin recorded "Please Be Mine," their first recorded song. Upon hearing the song, Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg decided to sign the brothers as a group. They considered naming their group "Sons of Jonas" before settling on the name Jonas Brothers. While working on their debut studio album, the band toured throughout 2005 with artists like Jesse McCartney, Kelly Clarkson, Jump5, and the Backstreet Boys.

They spent the latter portion of the year on a tour with Aly & AJ and The Cheetah Girls. Additionally, they opened for the Veronicas in early 2006. For their first album, titled "It’s About Time,” the band collaborated with several writers, including Adam Schlesinger and Steve Greenberg. The album was initially supposed to be released in February 2006 but was pushed back several times due to executive changes at Sonty and the desire to have “another lead single” on the album. For the album, the Jonas Brothers covered two hit songs by UK band Busted: “Year 3000” and “What I Go to School For.” The Jonas Brothers’ first single, “Mandy,” was released in December 2005.

In their youth, the Jonas Brothers wore purity rings and discussed the topic on “The Late Late Show With James Corden.” When asked about the history of the rings, Joe said, “Purity rings were to wait for the right person when the time was right. Here’s the catch: when you’re 12, and you do that, we grew up in a church, and our dad was a pastor, so it was kind of just natural for everyone we grew up with to go through this.”
