Lively was born Blake Ellender Brown in 1987 in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. She has an older brother and three half-siblings from her mother’s previous marriage. During her childhood, Lively accompanied her parents to the acting classes they taught, as they didn’t want to leave her with a babysitter. She said watching her parents teach helped her learn the “drills” and gain confidence as she started working in the industry. Lively described her 1998 professional debut in “Sandman” as a “bit part.”
Initially, she wasn’t interested in acting and wanted to attend Stanford University. While in high school, Lively’s elder brother asked his talent agent to send her to several auditions during the summer, and she was subsequently cast as Bridget in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” filming her scenes between her junior and senior years of high school. Lively and Ryan Reynolds tied the knot in 2012 and share four children.
What religion is Blake Lively?
Lively was raised in a Southern Baptist household. Although she admits that her immediate family wasn’t devout, she discusses her childhood faith in a way that suggests it still affects how she conducts her life. At the very least, it’s affected how she handles those of the opposite sex. In an interview with Marie Claire, Lively said,” I didn’t have a boyfriend until I was 17. I grew up in a Southern Baptist family. It was more my grandparents. My mother is a Christian, but it was just like she…It wasn’t like they went to church all the time and were really strict, but, you know, my mom was very much a good girl, and I was raised [that way as well].”
