Heather Locklear was raised in Los Angeles and attended UCLA, but dropped out to pursue an acting career. Her big break came in 1981 when she joined the cast of the prime time soap opera, Dynasty, followed by more prime time roles in Melrose Place, T. J. Hooker, and Spin City, and several movies.

Heather Locklear was married to heavy metal drummer Tommy Lee for 7 years, and has a daughter, Ava Elizabeth, from her subsequent marriage to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
