Sean Thomas Lowe is an American author, reality T.V. star, and Insurance Broker. Lowe was born and raised in Arlington, TX. Coming from a Christian family and being raised by a father who was a deacon in the church, Sean had always been taught to follow Jesus.

The Texas native rose to fame when he was chosen to lead on season 17 of ABC's The Bachelor, after becoming a fan favorite on Season 8 of The Bachelorette, where he was eliminated in the final weeks. Sean's Bachelor announcement made headlines because of his faith and beliefs. The central fact that the media held on to was that the Evangelical Christian was saving himself for marriage. Throughout his season, Lowe was bold and stood firm on his beliefs of marriage and purity.

Catherine Guidici Lowe won not only the show but Sean Lowe's heart on the hit dating show. She even credited the show for helping her discover her relationship with Jesus Christ. Guidici-Lowe shared her personal experience in an Instagram post in spring 2020, "I ended up getting to represent a mixed-race community, I found Christ (I LOVE my testimony!) and marrying the most amazing man I've ever known. I'd say doing this show was one of the best things that ever happened to me."

Through his season, Jesus shined through Sean's heart and helped lead his future wife to fully pursue a relationship with God.

Following their engagement on the show, Catherine decided to get baptized at the church Sean was attending. Sean's father, Jay, baptized her. The former Bachelor shared a photo on Instagram of his wife being baptized with the caption, "This brings my heart so much joy. Got to watch my dad baptize @catherinegiudici this morning."

In an interview with the Christian Post, Jay Lowe recalled, "I remember the night she surrendered her life to the Lord. She called me and was giggling and excited. She was overjoyed. Becoming a Christian was a personal decision she made herself and had nothing to do with Sean or impressing the family."
