Chris Martin is a musician and singer-songwriter. He's best known as the lead singer, pianist and co-founder of the band Coldplay. While at University College London, Martin formed a band called Starfish with three classmates, Will Champion, Jonny Buckland, and Guy Berryman. They renamed the band Coldplay in 1998 and rose to fame after releasing their song "Yellow" in 2000. They also received acclaim for albums like A Rush of Blood to the Head and Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Martin has won seven Grammys with the band.
Is Chris Martin religious?
Martin was raised in a Christian family in Devon, England. His family attended the Belmont Chapel in Exeter, where his parents played a crucial role in the church. However, Martin has since distanced himself from Christianity. In an interview with Howard Stern, Martin said, "My God, for me, is all things and all. God is everywhere and everyone, and it's also the unknowable, the vast majesty behind everything. And it's just the point where you get to the place where you can't think any further; that's where I think God is. I don't think that God is a man in the sky with a grey beard." He now calls himself an "alltheist" where he believes God is in everything and everywhere.
