Patton Oswalt was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and moved many times during his childhood as his father was a career Marine Corps officer. He began performing stand-up comedy in 1988 and has continued ever since. He has also done voice work and acting in several TV series and movies. He made his debute on "Seinfeld" later served as the voice of Remmy in "Ratatouille." He also co-starred with Spencer Olchin in "Young Adult" and won several awards for his Netflix special "Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping."
