Georgia native Julia Roberts was first seen in the 1988 film Mystic Pizza, but did not become a household name until she starred opposite Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. In 2000, she portrayed a legal aid who took down a powerful company in Erin Brockovich, a role in which she won her first Oscar. Roberts was raised Christian. However, she is now a practicing Hindu.
