In 1798, Robertson founded Operation Blessing, a nonprofit humanitarian organization operating in dozens of countries around the world, implementing programs that provide strategic disaster relief, medical aid, hunger relief, clean water and community development.

Pat Robertson's personal and family life played a significant role in shaping the man he became. He married his wife, Adelia "Dede" Elmer in 1954, and together they had four children.
