Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, on Feb. 1, 1994. At age seven, his parents, Des and Anne, divorced. Their separation resulted in Styles and his sister, Gemma, being raised by their mother. He grew up in Holmes Chapel, England, where he attended Comprehensive School. Styles and three of his classmates started a band called White Eskimo. Being a good group with Styles as the lead singer, the group went on to win a talent contest at their school. When he wasn't in school or practicing with his band, Harry worked part-time at the W. Mandeville Bakery in his hometown. His path to stardom began when he competed on the British talent competition show "The X Factor," where he was placed in the boy band "One Direction." After being eliminated from the show, the group's fame skyrocketed. "One Direction" broke many records during the journey of their five albums. After the group announced its hiatus in 2016, Styles launched his solo music career. He released his first solo album in 2017, then another chart-topping album, "Fine Line," in 2020. Styles isn't just a successful singer but also an up-and-coming actor. His acting debut was in the 2017 Christopher Nolan film "Dunkirk." He has many upcoming movies yet to be released. When Chelsea Handler asked the British singer about his religious beliefs, he answered that he is "more spiritual than religious" and that it is "naïve to say nothing exists and there's nothing above us or more powerful than us." Styles is often seen wearing a cross necklace despite not affiliating with a particular religion.
