Best known for his role as Willie Tanner on the 80's sitcom Alf, Max Wright was a Tony-nominated actor.
Born in Detroit in 1943, he made his Broadway debut in the 1968 production of The Great White Hope. He earned a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Play for his 1998 portral of Pavel Lebedev in Ivanov. Hi career began to take off in the 1980s with several roles on both the big and small screens. In addition to Alf, Wright appeared in a number of TV shows including Taxi, WKPR in Cincinatti, Friends, and Cheers.
Wright passed away in June 2019 after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Linda Ybarrondo, died in 2017. At the time of his death he was survived by his two children.
