Groundbreaking superstar MC Adam Yauch, known better as MCA of the Beastie Boys, left the world all too soon in May of 2012, leaving behind a legacy of musical innovation and liberation. Raised by Jewish mother and Catholic father in Brooklyn, Adam and his Beastie Boys changed rap forever and also worked to change lives in Tibet. Adam was a practicing Buddhist. He died after a three year bout with cancer.
