rimages.jpgYesterday, thousands of people across the United States gathered for various right to life events to recognize the importance of protecting the lives of unborn children. Both as a dad and follower of Jesus, I fully support limiting abortion as much as possible to save as many lives as possible.

My question for those who hold to the pro-life position, however, is one of action, not belief. While many joined together in church and community events yesterday, the rest of the year–the other 364 days–is where the real change will take place.

If we say we value the lives of the unborn, along with the lives of the women carrying these children, me must live like it.

Whether helping in crisis pregnancy agencies, adoption and foster care, financial giving, or a variety of other options, the goal is to live what we believe in this area.

The New Testament letter of James echoes this approach. It says to not be only a hearer of the word, but to do what it says.

We believe life is sacred; let’s live sacred lives that save the lives of the next generation.

If we don’t who will?
