If you live in the United States, today is Thanksgiving Day, a holiday celebrated with turkey dinners, American football, and holiday shopping (especially Black Friday).
In the midst of the commercialism, it’s easy to forget Thanksgiving Day is a tradition filled with Christian connections. If you’re celebrating with family, here’s a quick little history of Thanksgiving you can read together.
No matter where you celebrate the holiday today, take a moment to pray together (even if you have to be the one to do it) and thank God for the blessed lives we have been given and ask Him to help those less fortunate in our nation and around the world.
NOTE: If you’re looking to help, you can also support the Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless in my community or ask your local church for ways to volunteer to help.
