For those of you who are historical buffs and movie buffs, this video is a classic. The subscriber who submitted the features comments, “This film is believed to have never been seen before, and to be the only shots of the surrender known. General MacArthur’s voice is a rarity in this old film clip. It is reputed to have never been shown to the general public before.
“This is a ‘must see’ for the WWII history buff or anyone interested in history. Especially interesting are the other signers to the document, from New Zealand/Australia to Europe/Russia.
“This is an actual film made of the surrender ceremony of the Japanese to MacArthur in Tokyo Bay in September 1945. We always saw the ‘stills’ but never the film itself.”
