Although Memorial Day was last week, our editor came across articles and pictures that everyone should see.

“What is Memorial Day really about?  While we are busy gearing up for the weekend, I thought I should post this annual reminder about the holiday.  It may surprise some of you.

Take a few minutes to remind yourself what Memorial Day is really all about.  While there, do read the story about a Memorial Day NINE years ago – Mathew Schram’s Memorial Day.  You’ll have a much greater appreciation of this event after reading these articles.

You’ll definitely want to look over these haunting images and read the associated article.  The author ends her tribute as follows: ”. . . I want to tell you that as the wife of a veteran, it is tremendously meaningful to know that on this Memorial Day, civilians will be bearing witness and remembering in their own way — that those who are gone are not forgotten. I also want to say that as you remember them, we remember you. Thank you.”
