I had the pleasure of seeing this beautiful man live a few years back and will always remember the compassion and grace that I felt being in his presence. While I am not a Buddhist, I love many aspects of the religion. Many religious icons transcend their religions and reach the world through their heart. The Dalai Lama is one of those special beings.  I was thankful for the opportunity to see him and  hear him speak. Here is a beautiful quote quote on being thankful.

“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

In Canada we just celebrated our thanksgiving. It is a time of giving thanks for a bountiful harvest, share with family, preparing for winter. This year was the first time I ever remember it snowing in October. While it is too early to scrap ice lol, I am always ready to be thankful. I am thankful to have my son visit and bring his childhood friend along. I am thankful for all the beings in my life and for being here now.
