Aloha everyone,

I am reading a wondering book called, “Practicing the Presence of God” by Brother Lawrence. He was a humble monk in the 17th century who through constant prayer developed a conscious connection with God. He was an amazing man in his humility and his love of God. He worked in the kitchen until he was no longer able to stand and then he made sandals. He felt loving his neighbor was the same as loving God. “He took pleasure in making them as content as angels.”

Brother Lawrence found that by giving, he received and by being of service, he was fulfilled. So what does all this have to do with angels and the economy you ask?

Brother Lawrence knew that by giving freely, he received, and that by treating all people as if they were angels (God’s messengers), he found lasting happiness. When we fully embrace those ideals, our lives and our financial reality change dramatically.

One of my spiritual practices is that when I find myself in turmoil, doubt or fear, I ask myself how I can see what is happening through the eyes of the angels. When I do that and take a few moments to breathe deeply, relax, and open my mind, my perspective changes immensely. As a result, the choices I make, the actions I take, and the energy I project become expansive, loving, and are transformed.

This universe is totally abundant in everything. There is more than enough food on this planet to feed everyone, so there is no reason anyone needs to starve. We swim in a sea of love, so there is never any need to feel unloved. Our fear, which is caused by our disconnection to our spirit, is what causes us to experience lack and limitation.

If world leaders thought more like Brother Lawrence, there would be no more war and, chances are, starvation would become a thing of the past. But how can you apply this to your everyday life?

Whenever you have fear about the economy or about not having enough money or love, take a few deep breaths and ask to see your life through the eyes of the angels. Ask for guidance about what to do next. Before you pay your bills, give thanks for what you do have and experience real joy in the act of giving. Pay your bills with joy, knowing there is more than enough of everything, even if it doesn’t happen to be in your life right now.

If you are looking for work, once again ask to see the experience through the eyes of the angels. Give thanks for the opportunity to be of service, and share freely of your joy, your happiness, and your love. It takes practice, and I can guarantee if you practice on a regular basis, your life will be transformed.

In the depression era of the 1930s, there were more millionaires made than any other time in history, and only 25% of the population was effected by the economic downturn. Connecting with the love and expansive nature of angelic beings and emulating Brother Lawrence will assure you of financial success and a happy life, if you are truly coming from a place of fearless love.

With love and aloha,
Susan

You really do have angels on your shoulders!
