Aloha,
This is one of my last few days in Lithuania. As much as I love this country, I am looking forward to going home. I ride my bike along the water’s edge each day and see so many ordinary angels. I watch the parents walking with their young children, teaching them about life. I watched a young mother teach her young boy about kindness and gentleness while they fed the birds.
If you have anyone you would like to see mentioned as an ordinary angel on the third Friday of the month, please let me know. You can just send me an e-mail to sgregg@aloha.com.
I have a Google alert set for angels. Most days I just get lots of news stories about the Angels baseball team. Occasionally I get stories about angels in action. This month I would like to honor all the firefighters that risk their lives every day, rescuing people and putting out fire, but I would especially like to honor Ted Hall and Arnie Quinones who died fighting a wildfire in LA county.
On a more cheerful note, angels from all over the country, including an unnamed inmate, have donated time and money to build a new home for 87-year-old Ester Davis who lives in rural Scott County, Mississippi. Her home was falling down and possums would wander in and steal food off of her kitchen table. You can read the whole story here. Her story about quitting smoking is wonderful!
Each of us can be an angel for somebody. Have a great day, and why not commit a random act of kindness today?
With love and aloha,
Susan
Remembering the angels on your shoulders keep you happy!
