In British Columbia a Golden Retriever named Angel save an 11 year old boy from a cougar attack.

I read a number of stories about the event and it was interesting to see people’s reactions. On one blog there was a series of heated exchanges between people who felt killing the cougar was an act of animal abuse and others that reacted to that perspective. Judgment of any sort only invites more judgment.

What I found very heartwarming was the family hadn’t even wanted the dog at first. Someone was no longer able to care for Angel so the family took her in. What a difference that choice made in all their lives.

The simple act of loving yourself unconditionally can make such a huge difference in your life. This morning I awoke long before dawn and snuggled under the blankets attempting to feel the presence of the angels. I thought about air. It is always all around me and yet often I don’t notice it unless a strong wind is blowing. When I had that thought I smiled and gave thanks for the sustaining presence of the angels.

With love and aloha,
Susan
