Japan tsunami and earthquake – it’s all perfect????
I was watching the news last night and they showed an image of an old woman and a rescue worker in the midst of the rumble praying. Then they showed an injured dog leading rescue workers to another badly injured dog. They rescued them both and they are recovering. The images brought tears to my eyes.
I always talk about seeing things through the eyes of angels and how they see only love and perfection. How can such devastation be perfect?
Remember life is and then we tell ourselves a story. our emotional response is to the story and not the event.
Changing the story
What happened was there was a large earthquake in Japan that created a very large tsunami. A lot of homes were destroyed, people and animals died. If we don’t have a story going about death and houses being destroyed it is still an emotionally neutral event.
I have been focusing on all the wonderful things that have happened as a result of the tsunami. Young children have sold art and their toys to raise money to help the Japanese. People have prayed together all over the world. I have watched the Japanese people come together and help one another.
So what story do I want to focus on? Death is part of life, when someone dies here, they leave their body to be born again into their spirit. The Japanese honor their ancestors, imagine the glorious home coming as their ancestors greeted all of them into the spirit realm.
The love goes on
Imagine the people who died now sending their love back to those they left behind. From spirit all we see is love. They can now see this world through the eyes of angels and can project that love and understanding back to all the people on the earth plane.
I view all of life, each and every event as an opportunity to deepen my connection with my spirit and to release another part of my filter system or as an opportunity to reinforce my filter system and argue for my limitations.
When I allow myself to love all of life I can see beyond my stories and connect with the unconditional love this universe is created from.
Which story feels better?
I know when I focus on all the miracles happening and the number of people helping each other I feel much better than when I focus on the ‘tragedy’ part of the story. We are always adding either love or fear to the world. When we add more love, we not only feel better but we make the world a better place too.
So, today practice looking for the miracles, look for the love and the positive events within the events around you. See what happens when you do.
Remember we are giving up suffering for Lent as part of the 40 days to love!
With love and aloha,
Susan
