lent (1) We have spent 40 days focusing on love. The message of Jesus was love, pure unconditional love, free of judgment, turn the other cheek, judge not kind of love. I have long thought it was interesting that early Christians decide to adopt the crucifixion as the symbol rather than the resurrection but that’s just me – I’d rather focus on love and create more love to move toward instead of focusing on suffering and then create suffering to move away from.

In you own life: love or suffering?

Angels are the epitome of love. Their only message is love and acceptance, acceptance and love. If we choose to see life through the eyes of the angels we will choose to focus on love and see life through the perspective of love. Suffering is always created by our resistance to ______. You fill in the blank about what you are resisting at the moment. It comes down to the question of perspective: is the glass half empty or half full? The glass is the same just our perspective changes and as a result our experience.

Angels and great teachers like Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tse and Amma see a very different world than most of us do and as a result have greater impact on the world. They see only the love.

Ending all suffering

This finally week of Lent I invite you to make the decision to release suffering in your life and fully embrace joy, grace, love, ease and gratitude. Whatever you focus  your attention on you get more of so focus on seeing life through the eyes of love instead of judgment and fear. When I look at what happened in Japan I see many opportunities to see love and kindness in action and choose to focus my attention on that rather than the nuclear events or all the people that died. I look at death not as a tragic ending but merely as a change of address. I see death as a new beginning.

Just for this week ask the angels to help you see life through their eyes and their eyes alone. If you like the results you can decide to do it on a regular basis. It certainly would be a very different world if more people decided to do that. Join me this week and see what happens and as we say here in Hawaii, tie your slippers tight it will be quite a ride!
