I am starting to write a new book. It is all about love and a deep sense of connection to our spirit. I tend to flip open my angel book when in need of inspiration and today Cupid showed up so I share home with you.

This is an excerpt from my book The Complete Encyclopedia of Angels:

Cupid

Cupid is the Roman god of love and the son of the magnificent goddess ,Venus. At times he is portrayed as a small, blindfolded, winged boy, carrying a bow and arrow. Whoever he shoots with his arrow, is destined to fall in love. Some stories say he was born from a silver or golden egg. Cupid is cute and lovable but he is also mischievous and dangerous. His arrows contain love but they also inflict pain.

His wings speak to the spiritual side of love yet his lofty vantage point often leads to the despair of lost love. He is often a trickster when he chooses to play with human emotions, but ultimately he is the god of love. Cupid reminds humans of the power of love especially when it is pure and uncontaminated by jealousy, fear and greedy attachment. From Cupid’s perspective much of what human’s call love is really nothing but an attempt to control and manipulate another person. He knows the meaning of true love and knows that means wanting the object of that love to be happy, even if that means that person is meant to love another.

Cupid reminds people that they must first love themselves then they will to be able to truly love another. His arrows only cause pain when the heart they pierce is unsure of their ability to love and care for themselves while having enough room to care and love for another.

Invocation:

The most familiar image of Cupid is seen around Valentine’s Day usually in front of a large red heart. You can use that image to call upon him and write your request on the back of the heart. He loves love so he will rapidly come to the aid of anyone who asks with an open and loving heart.

Cupid will help you:

Find love
Heal a broken heart
Love yourself unconditionally
Improve all of your relationships

Calling the angels into your home

With love and aloha,
Susan

Angels are everywhere just open your mind and your heart to the signs.

Make Angels on Your Shoulder part of your daily routine and share it with a friend!
