Aloha,
Life never ceases to amaze me. Years ago I wrote a book on spiritual healing for the “Complete Idiot’s Guide” series. Yesterday I came home, and there was a box from the publisher. They had summarized the book and created a new book on “Spiritual Healing: Restore your spirit and heal your life”! I had written a new book without knowing I had written a new book. Kind of neat to say the least.
When I was thinking about what to post about today, I picked up the book and read a portion of it, and voila this post was born.
I used to have a small basket outside my front door. Before I entered my home, I would say a little prayer and mentally put all my cares and concerns in the basket. As I entered the door, I would affirm that only love, peace, hope, and joy could enter. I thought of my doorway as a magical portal that transformed all energy into love. By that simple act, I made my home a refuge where I always felt safe and loved.
Symbolism is very powerful. Look at how all sorts of products are successfully marketed by making them a symbol of happiness or that you have finally attained ‘the dream.’ You can use symbolism to change your life in a profound way. Find a basket and perhaps an angel to hang over it. As you hang the basket, you could say something like:
Angels, guides, and all beings of love and light and laughter, make this a portal of love. May only thoughts of love live here, and may I always be in alignment with my spirit. As I enter this home, I place my love and trust in you, my loving and caring creator.
Each time you enter the door, pause, mentally and symbolically put all your cares and concerns in the basket, reaffirm your prayer, and then enter. You’ll be amazed at how quickly your life changes. When you feel worried, you can walk out, release your fear, and then enter again. If you have a favorite angel, you can use his name or the name of Jesus, Buddha or any other spiritual being you feel strongly about.
With love and aloha,
Susan
