Video tapes Fox and others made such a big deal about concerning corruption at ACORN were edited to show the opposite of what happened. ‘Conservatism’ today is not an honorable political force contesting with different ideas and priorities, let alone, as I believe is true for genuine conservatism, a necessary element in the political ecology of a free society. Rather it is a dishonorable force contesting for power over us all through shameless hypocrisy, lies and deception. Until genuine conservatives clean their own filthy house they are dirtied by those who use the same term without challenge.
No – this post isn’t spiritual – it deals with depravity and the many decent people who have suffered from their successes.
My next stuff will be distant from politics – we desperately need to know the quality of dishonesty and utter lack of integrity in those who preach ‘values’ to us these days, and need to expose them at every opportunity. But we also need a life away from trying to clean the sewer. At least I do.
I’m going for a walk. It is a beautiful spring day outside, flowers are blooming everywhere, and the energies of the plants and air and ground will help cleanse the garbage energy I’ve picked up reading about these people.
Sometimes I wish I were not a political scientist.
