So easy, a baby can do it! =)

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

If you are like most people, it probably seems like life is getting harder and harder. Faster and faster paced, more to do with less time; like the days, weeks, months and even years are just flying by.

What if there was a way to get more out of life, to experience more peace, more happiness, and to give up stress once and for all?

Well there is good news, and there is better news: the solution exists, and has existed for around 4,000 years. The better news is, you are going to learn it here today.

Clearly, you can tell from the title that the solution is meditation!
Before we go on, let us be clear on what meditation is, and what it isn’t.
Meditation is getting your mind under your own conscious control. To have it be calm and reined in like a horse, rather than running around wild like a monkey.

And more than that, meditation has been a proven antidote to stress, so learning effective meditation techniques can not only make you feel calmer and happier, it can literally save your life!

In the video below, you’ll learn:
What meditation is, why it’s important, and how to do it. An explanation and demo of the major types of meditation, and a *guided meditation* that will allow you to instantly relax whenever you like.

As we talked about before your mind is like a super computer with no instruction manual; and everything you say or do is going into programming that machine.

Meditation, then, allows you to tap into this machine, and begin to consciously program it to do what you want it to do, and STOP doing what you don’t want it it do!

There are hundreds if not thousands of types of meditation out there, what is quick and easy for one person, will be nearly impossible for someone else. It is impossible to explain them all in a single article, but a quick overview of some of the major types are as follows:
1.Zen Meditation
Zen meditation involves sitting still and clearing your mind. You can focus on your breathing, carefully observing it going in and out, and as thoughts come into your mind, just let them float by like leaves on the river.
Zen’s ultimate goal is total presence in the moment; being absolutely aware of where you are, and what you are doing. As such, chopping wood, cooking dinner, or martial arts can all be ‘Zen’ practices.

2.Mantra Meditation
Mantras are repeating (ideally) meaningful phrases in your mind over and over again, like “Om” or “Aum Mane Padme Hum”. Catholic rosaries also count as mantra meditation; the key is to occupy your conscious mind with a task, so the subconscious and super-conscious minds  can seep through into your awareness.

3. Guided Visualization
In the video below, I guide you through a short guided meditation to help you feel calm and peaceful. The Heart Space Meditation we shared previously is another form of guided visualization. This type of meditation can be especially helpful

4.Yoga Meditation
There is much more to yoga then twisting your body into odd postures. In fact many forms of yoga are done while sitting or standing normally! The postures are a part of ‘Hatha Yoga’ which uses the positions called ‘asanas’ to occupy the body so that the mind can shine through…does this sound familiar?

5.Tai Chi, Aikido, and other forms of Moving Meditation
Think of it like Hatha Yoga in motion; except you get to throw people across the room, which is nice. Again, the same principle: the body is occupied so that the mind can come through.

This is just a very brief overview of just a few types of meditation.
If you are wondering which one of these is the ‘best’ one, the answer is simple: the one you actually take the time to practice!

Enjoy the brief (but powerful) meditation in the video!
