“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”
-Epicurus
I have already written extensively on how to get started using the Law of Attraction, and in the video below I talked quite a bit about gratitude, and how to have more of it.
So here I want to talk about it on a higher level.
An important thing to remember, is the Law is ALWAYS working.
You are always, ALWAYS attracting *something * 24 hours a day, the only two questions are: are you doing it consciously or unconsciously, and are you attracting what you want, or what you don’t want?
And easy way to know what the answer is, is to look around at your results.
Are things getting better and better for you, or are they staying the same? Or God forbid, are they getting worse?
Remember, the Law CAN NOT fail; the only problems can be in how we apply it. So let’s start working to apply it better right now.
If I had to distill the Law of Attraction down as simply as possible, I would say: think about what you want as often as possible, WITHOUT worrying about it.
What I mean is, if you think about that new dream car all the time, that’s great; if you find yourself starting to worry about when or how it is going to arrive, or questioning if it is ever going to come at all, you are over doing it.
Only focus on it with *positive* expectancy.
Does that make sense?
Now, we’ve already talked about knowing what you want, so I’ll assume you have a handle on that. So now I am asking, what are you ALREADY grateful for?
Have you ever heard the saying “if you’re not happy with what you have, you won’t be happy with more”? It has to do with the quote from Epicurus at the beginning of this article: everything you have now, you once really wanted. And if it is not bringing you any joy, then even if you get everything you want in the world, it won’t bring you any joy, either.
Understand?
The key is to find and focus on what you appreciate with everything you have now. Your current life, your current body, your current bank account, job, and relationships…everything. If you think there is nothing to be thankful for, contact me at any of the links below and I’ll give you a whole shopping list of things to love about yourself!
Which actually speaks to my greater point: love.
Love yourself, love your life, right now. Because if you don’t love it NOW, you never will. This doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of room to improve, far from it. But if you don’t love yourself, if you don’t truly believe you can change and deserve good things, then those things will never manifest.
As I’ve said in the past, no one can ever love you more than you love you.
And I’ll let you in on a pretty important mystical secret: love is the foundation of the entire Universe, of all of reality.
And I don’t mean this as some hippie ‘love makes the world go round’ sort of way, I mean Divine Love is LITERALLY the foundation of the Universe.
If you think about it, what is Love, but a connection between two (or more) things? For reasons I explained here, I believe that down at the foundation of the Universe, down where particles can get no smaller, everything is sort of like bubbly or foamy. This is the Planck level, where everything arises out of. But have you ever thought, why do they come to exist at all? Why do particles combine into atoms, molecules, etc?
The answer, from a metaphysical stand point, is because of Divine Love.
Because God cares enough to have them combine, they combine. And combine into bigger and bigger units of energy until they manifest as you, me, the Sun, Moon, and everything else.
So what does this have to do with gratitude?
Gratitude is essentially expressing love for something. And if Love is what brings things together, then expressing that Love out into the Universe can only attract those positive things back to you?
Does that make sense?
I know I went off on an unusual tangent there, but I told you this would be a higher level conversation! Read it again if you have to, since if you get this you really do get EVERYTHING.
And I mean that in every way that I possibly can!
