The fear of Friday the 13th actually has a name, I learned from Wikipedia this morning:

The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia,[1][2] a word derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Paraskeví (?????????) (meaning Friday), and dekatreís (?????????) (meaning thirteen), attached to phobía (?????) (meaning fear). This is a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a simple phobia (fear) of the number thirteen, and is also known as friggatriskaidekaphobia. The term triskaidekaphobia was derived in 1911 and first appeared in a mainstream source in 1953.[3]

My favorite theory regarding the origin of the fear of Friday the 13th is that in ancient cultures, Friday was named after the Goddess.  In French, Friday is Vendredi, and in Italian, Venerdi,  named after Venus.  In German it is Freitag, and in Norway, Fredag, named after Freya, the Norse goddess who shares the characteristics of Venus.  During the period of the Inquisition, all things feminine were believed to be of the devil, and Friday, the Goddesses’ day, was a part of that as was the 13-month lunar calendar which did not give way to the 12-month solar calendar until 1582.

In any event, today is not at all unlucky with Jupiter making an exact conjunction to the North Node today, an aspect that peaks at around 1 pm.  Jupiter represents good fortune, expansion, and a sense that life has meaning.  The North Node is the point at which the Moon crosses the ecliptic to the North, and in astrological symbolism it represents the point at which the future unfolds towards our destiny.  An alignment of Jupiter with the North Node helps to open doorways of opportunity that offer a path to greater freedom and good fortune.
The effect of this lovely aspect lasts all day, and later today it will be compounded by a trine from the Moon, still in Libra, to both Chiron (healing) and Neptune (spirituality and creativity).  This is a tremendously creative time, with a flow of beautiful energy to feed the soul.
Later this evening on the West coast of the US the trine of the Moon to the Sun will continue this harmonic opening, which will peak on the East coast at around 2 am.  Early tomorrow morning, however, the Moon will form a square to Mercury and arguments could occur so let the good energy from today spill over into tomorrow’s events.
