Today we are likely to experience a strong pressure for change as the Moon forms an opposition (challenging aspect) to Uranus in the sky. Uranus is the planet of revolution and the desire to break up the established order so that something new and more efficient can take its place. At the same time, the Moon will conjunct Saturn, because Saturn and Uranus are in opposition (180 degrees) in the sky right now. Saturn confines the Moon, relegating it to a dark corner of introspection and moodiness.
The combination of Saturn’s dark moods with the Uranian urge to break free from the bonds that shackle us is a difficult one, but the Moon moves quickly and after this dynamic peaks between 11 am and noon today
Meanwhile, the Sun continues to separate from a conjunction with Chiron that was effective during the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Monday, and is now approaching a conjunction to Neptune. Planets are said to be conjunct when they are at the same degree of the same sign, and their energies are fused and they act as a unit. The transiting Sun energizes us and illuminates the issues of the planets that the Sun is affecting at the moment, and when the Sun conjuncts Neptune today and tomorrow there is the potential for an increased awareness and sensitivity, our empathy can be heightened and we are more conscious of the subtle experiences that lie underneath our day-to-day lives. However, with Neptune there is always the danger of self-deception and escapism, and perhaps a sense that we have lost our way. I find that the optimum way to handle any Neptune experience is to dive into an experience that is more spiritual in its substance – yoga, meditation, attending church services, listening to inspirational tapes – while keeping our feet firmly on the ground and recognizing that although we are human beings having a spiritual experience we still live in the world of matter.
