“Everything happens for us. Nothing happens against us,” says Brenda Michaels, host of Conscious Talk radio. She went through a period of cancer, medical bankruptcy and divorce that propelled her into a new level of understanding. Host of the radio show that reaches 200,000 plus visitors weekly, she refused chemotherapy and began to turn inward for healing and understanding. Today Michael’s total healing and profound changes have given her the insights to host internationally renowned authors on her show for the past ten years.

On a recent show author, Martha Beck talked about waking up to the power of the spiritual Self through crisis. She refers to those who take this path as “wayfinders” who help others through their own experiences of growth and courage. “A lot of people will go through crisis and wake up,” Michaels says. “But for others this isn’t their path.” These crises may be health related, financial or about relationships. “Part of taking this on is a way of processing for the planet,” she says. As more and more light enters the earth, it also enters us and raises our frequency. This may result in more physical fatigue and a need to be quiet and have alone time.

Michaels emphasizes that we have the power to choose how we live our experiences. We can chose to be a victim and see things as happening to us, or we can chose to learn and grow from the experiences and welcome and embrace them. The path we chose will often determine which side of the line we stand on. During the holidays it may have been easy to notice family and friends who chose to be victims, criticize and complain. Making the other choice empowers us and helps us to heal and expand, but it also challenges those around us who take another stance. The best advice, according to Michaels, is to let them be and place them in a loving light, without judgment.

Culturally we tend to look for what’s wrong, but when the focus shifts to the notion that there are no bad or wrong experiences, they simply become experiences and we can see what’s being called forth to heal. Tune into Michaels and husband Rob at http://www.conscioustalk.net/
