Every year on July 4th holiday in the United States it’s Independence Day. In other countries Independence Day may occur on a different date. In either case what is the same is that this day represents freedom to millions of people.

Even though Independence Day is recognized as a holiday to celebrate freedom, many people do see every day as a day of freedom.

Now of course freedom is going to represent something different for each person. With that in mind my question is…

“What does freedom mean to you?”

Certainly there are going to be many different answers to this, based on your specific situation.

Take a look at your life… past, present, and look into the future.

When you do, you’ll see that you’ve had freedom all along. In fact you also have constraint as well.

Why am I bringing this up?

Because it’s important to realize that you can’t have freedom without constraint, just like you can’t have constraint without freedom.

This is important to know because if you’re in a situation right now where you feel stuck or constrained in some way, just know that you also have freedom to go along with it…you can’t have one without the other.

With this now in mind, ask the question again…

“What does freedom mean to you?”

As you answer this consider the different areas of your life. Also look at as many different moments as you can and see where you have freedom, and then see what it does mean to you.

Even in situations where you feel stuck and constrained, look for where you have freedom and what that form of freedom means to you.

Strange and shocking as it may sound, at times freedom may be a disadvantage. A good example of this is if you (not you per se) notice that you spend much of your free time watching TV…instead of perhaps using that time to study and mastering how to build greater financial wealth.

No matter how you look at it, whatever freedom means to you is going to be based on your values or what’s most important to you.

What you perceive as freedom in one area of life someone else may see as constraint and even challenging.

So just be aware that freedom is going to mean different things to different people, and it’s really important to be aware of that, especially when dealing with others.

Now when it comes to dealing with your magnificent and amazing self, freedom is going to take on a deeper meaning…

Because when you are able to realize how to use your unique form of freedom, along with constraint, you’ll have greater insights into the brilliance and genius of who you are.
