Here’s something that shouldn’t come as a surprise to you…

And that is the daily stress that occurs in your life.

Whether it’s going to your job you don’t like, your current financial situation which has you in survival mode, people you come across who push your buttons, or as some would say the “daily grind”, it is pretty much a guarantee that your day has stress in it.

Here’s something that may come as a surprise to you…

Even though you do deal with stress on an everyday basis, the fact is that stress in your life won’t go away…

That’s the “bad” news.

Now here’s the “good” news.

You can change the type of stress you come across. In other words, the most stressful events that you have in your life can be eliminated…

And along with that, you can have a new form of stress that comes into your life that can actually help you achieve whatever it is that you want.

So how can you do this?

Before I get to that just know that it comes down to answering the question…

“How well do you deal with stressful situations?”

1. The pressure cooker

Whenever we encounter stress there is almost always some type of pressure that comes along with it. Of course this occurs in varying degrees. Typically a very stressful situation also involves being in a high pressure situation.

Here’s something else that may sound very surprising and shocking at first…

Former baseball manager Tommy Lasorda has been quoted as saying, “Pressure is a word that is misused in our vocabulary. When you start thinking of pressure, it’s because you’ve started to think of failure.”

Therefore, whenever you are stressed out over something there is a sub conscious thought of failure in your mind…and this failure can range from the slightest of things all the way up to the extreme and everything else in between.

This is not a bad thing.

But rather it’s a feedback mechanism that is trying to give you guidance. This is what I was referring to earlier about that new form of stress that is there to help you achieve what you want.

Before I share that with you, there’s one more thing I want to discuss

2. The King of Cool

There’s a movie called the “Tao of Steve” which came out in 2000. The inspiration and name of this movie was derived from three guys named Steve who represent all the coolness and social poise that the character Dex seeks in the movie.

The three Steve’s are actor Steve McQueen (The so called King of Cool), Steve Austin (The fictional character who was the bionic man in the 1970’s series, 6 Million Dollar man), and Steve McGarrett (Who was the detective in the popular 1960’s show Hawaii Five-O).

All three of these Steve’s had one thing in common. They were known for being cool without even trying, effortless as some might say. In other words, the roles they played conveyed a feeling of maintaining poise in pressure packed situations.

They never got flustered or panicked even when the enemy was closing in on them. And as a result they attracted people who admired them because of how they handled very difficult and high pressure situations.

Ok, so what does this have to do with you?

It comes down to this…

It’s not the situation that you perceive as being stressful that counts, it’s how you deal with and react to that situation which does count.

Your ability to know how to deal with and handle what you perceive as stressful situations in a poised, present, and graceful manner will determine the level of success you achieve in any area of your life!

This is where you would eliminate that so called “bad” stress and bring in that “new” stress which can help you achieve what you want.

Let’s talk about that right now.

3. Stressings and blessings

Anytime you have a stressful situation in your life, just know that there are two sides to that situation. There’s a positive side and a negative side. If you see it as being stressful, you’ll see more negatives than positives in that situation. This is nether right nor wrong. it’s based on how you perceive it.

Your ability to know how to deal with stressful situations comes down to knowing this. When you find yourself in a stressful situation, look for the positive in that situation. At first you may not see it, but keep looking and you’ll find it.

Let’s now come back to that new form of stress which can help you achieve what you want.

Since you’re always dealing with stress in some way, when you are able to anticipate that stress in advance, you’ll be able to use it to your advantage.

Just know that no matter how a certain situation appears to be, they’ll always be some type of stress involved.

Whatever the situation is for you, look for that stress and see how it can help you.

For example, let’s say that you inherited a large sum of money. Now at first you may think that there’s no stress involved..but there is. You’ll have people asking to borrow money from you. You’ll have to pay taxes on that money. You’ll also be tempted to spend that money at will.

Even though these are new stresses you’ll now have, they are good ones. Why? Because it’ll get you to become more aware of how to deal with people “coming at you.” It will help you become more organized in how to manage your money. And the list goes on and on.

Once you know that in every stressing there’s a hidden blessing, and in every blessing there’s a hidden stressing, you are well on your way to actually reducing the amount of stress you encounter.

Remember the Tao of Steve…

Maintain your poise and coolness in difficult situations when they come up. And ideally prepare for them in advance before they come up.

The result…

You’ll be the King (or Queen) of cool and live the type of amazing life you deserve to live.
