Dec. 1 is always a crazy day for me — how convenient that my birthday (shared by Woody Allen and the Rosa Parks bus boycott launch, among other events) falls during the holiday season and World AIDS Day! This year, it’s also the first night of Hanukkah and a big day for interfaith immigration reform advocates who support the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2009. Here in Seattle, it’s also the installation of the new Catholic archbishop, J. Peter Sartain.

Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s a bakery calling my name.
