Evangelist and “pastor to presidents” Billy Graham has been admitted to a North Carolina hospital, with pneumonia.

Officials say Graham is resting comfortable, and perhaps it’s not too serious: CNN reports that his son, Franklin Graham, is not expected to return from his humanitarian mission in North Korea for Samaritan’s Purse, a relief and evangelism organization that he leads, and daughter Anne Graham Lotz will continue a missionary trip to Israel.

Check out the Asheville (N.C.) Times, the AFP and Christian Today for more on this developing news, and this Beliefnet page all about Billy Graham.

The celebrated evangelist has counseled White House occupants for decades, going back to the Eisenhower administration. Although his son has clashed with the current administration, Billy Graham met and prayed with President Obama about a year ago, when the president was on his way to eulogize the West Virginia miners.
