Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Philippians 4:5
Moderation. Some of us have lots of problems with that character quality! I wonder how many of my readers share my inclination to go overboard on everything I do? That’s not always bad. We plunge headlong into good things as well as bad habits. But the Lord requires moderation as a testimony to others. When it comes to eating, our moderation, or lack of it, is obvious and “known unto all men.” All they have to do is look at us!
This week, lets not overeat because we are bored, tired, depressed, or feel we deserve a holiday. Let’s not starve because we hate the way we look, want to lose weight fast, or want to show we have the power to do it. Our challenge for this week is to be moderate. To eat natural, healthy, low glycemic foods in a reasonable amount. We want everyone to see right away that we have a God who is enough for us. We don’t need food for a crutch.
And let’s remember that truth — and act on it!
Eating to live and living for Christ,
