We talk a lot about doing healthy things that will give us a longer, more active life. Why? Unless you have a reason for living, there isn’t much incentive in stretching it out.
That’s why it’s important that you have a focus in your life — a reason to live. I don’t know about you, but I want my life to make a difference. If it isn’t a big difference, that’s okay. I just want to be used by God in some way to make life better for someone.
There are plenty of opportunities for that. The world is full of people who need you. There are foster children who need advocates and mentors, people in homeless shelters and sober living houses who need basic living supplies, and elderly people in nursing homes who are forgotten and alone. Whatever your talent, there is a mission field just your size.
Ask God where He wants you to serve — and don’t be surprised when an opportunity reaches up to grab you!
