I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.   Psalm 37:25

Well, I’ve seen folks begging for bread — but not because they were starving and actually needed it.  Carbs are addicting, so we want them, although they aren’t helping us.  The beautiful truth in this scripture, though, is that God never forsakes His own.  No matter how big — or small — your challenge or difficulty, you can call on Him for help.

But, you might say, “That is for the righteous — the super good.  That’s not me.”  You are right!  None of us are good at all, let alone super good.  But Jesus, who is perfectly good, made an exchange for us.  He gave us His perfection, His righteousness, and took on our sinfulness and selfishness.  What a trade!

Now those who believe Him have the right to come to God and to ask for His help.  He will never fail!
