Ian McKellen, who will reprise his role as Gandalf in the two forthcoming films based on Tolkien’s The Hobbit, and other material has announced that shooting will begin in New Zealand in June and will take almost a year to complete. Casting of parts has already begun in N.Y. L.A. and London.  McKellen tells us that the first draft of the first script is crammed with friends old and new.   I can’t wait!   Stay tuned.
